Vintage tractors will be on display

An antique tractor show will be featured in Old Town on Saturday and Sunday of festival weekend.
Twenty or more tractors are expected to appear in the show, most of them of late 1940's vintage or older.
Show liaison Joe Sinko said, œKen and Vicki Robison of Myrtle Point have been very cooperative and helpful with our previous tractor shows, and we hope to make it bigger and better this year. Ken has a reputation for restoring just about any kind of tractor. He must have at least 10 of his own now, mostly International Harvester Farmalls.

Antique tractor owners have a loose-knit club in Coos County, some members of which get together for shows around the state and beyond.

At least some of these local tractors will appear in the parade Saturday morning, and we usually have some from farther out of the area, too," said Sinko, adding: œWe hope to have some antique or even present-day cranberry harvesting equipment to add to the tractor display. It's an important industry in our area and would add interest to the tractor show.

The show will take place in Old Town on Second Street Southeast between Chicago and Alabama avenues. It will begin after the parade on Saturday and run until 5 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
