Have a great time at Cranberry Festival!
Welcome to Bandon-by-the-Sea, the cranberry capital of Oregon.
Prepared by the Cranberry Festival Committee, the 62nd annual Bandon Cranberry Festival has a great lineup of activities for festival-goers.
This year's theme, œCranberry Fields Forever," harkens back to 1960s and early 1970s when The Beatles were all the rage and long hair, love beads and bellbottoms were in. The parade should be a œgroovy" event!
The events schedule offers something for everyone to enjoy. The festival begins Friday at 11 a.m. with the blessing of the harvest at the Russell bogs, U.S. Highway 101 and Randolph Road. The food fair and bazaar runs all day at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall on Bates Road, and Friday culminates with the cranberry court coronation and awards ceremony at the Sprague Community Theater in City Park.
On Saturday, don't miss the grand parade down Highway 101 and through Old Town beginning at 10 a.m. And from 10 to 5 both Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy great food, arts and crafts, friendly folks and live entertainment at the outdoor marketplace throughout Old Town.
Quilts made by members of the Bandon Quilter's Guild will be on display both days at the Farwest Hall.
The Bandon Lions will be serving up their scrumptious Lions Burgers or Polish Dog meals with all the trimmings at the City Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, the Bandon Tiger football team hosts Yoncalla at Bandon High School's Tiger Field. The mystery person will be revealed at halftime.
On Sunday, breakfast will be served at the VFW hall beginning at 8:30 a.m., and the festival market in Old Town will open at 10.
You can also visit the renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort's practice center for the eighth annual golf challenge on both Saturday and Sunday ” and compete in œbeat the pro" and œclosest to the pin" contests, while at the same time supporting the festival queen's scholarship program.
Whatever you do, we hope you'll enjoy all the great fun and festivities Bandon has to offer. And you're welcome here, so please come back and see us again.
