Festival planning takes months
When the Bandon Chamber of Commerce took over the festival 13 years ago, a small group of business owners banded together to ensure the festival's survival. Over the years, the festival and the committee have both grown. The volunteer force is now made up of Bandon business owners and employees, retired folks and community supporters.
This year's Cranberry Festival Committee includes Cathy Underdown, Julie Miller, Don Whitmer, Marykay Whitmer, Bart Stein, Cathy Bernal, Floyd Bernal, Ken Gregg, J.J. McLeod, Lynn Giovannetti, Nicole Erenfeld, Robin Koch, Joe Sinko, Gina Dearth and Colleen Showalter.
The committee begins its work in January and is in full swing by mid-February.
